Install AutoDiscovery components
This topic describes how to install the AutoDiscovery server and sensor.
The server receives traffic information from the Sensor(s) and creates the business service maps. It hosts the AutoDiscovery web client and communicates with all other components.
The Sensor captures network traffic data between computers across the network. It can use either full network capture or statistical capture (NetFlow/SFlow). The AutoDiscovery server connects to the sensor periodically to get a summary of the traffic that was captured by the sensor.
Install the AutoDiscovery server
The AutoDiscovery server installation includes the database installation as well as installers of the other components. The server uses an Apache Tomcat Server and a PostgreSQL database. The installation procedure should be executed by a local administrator.
AutoDiscovery can run on a Linux server, using the CentOS-based Virtual Appliance (OVA format). The server installation includes a local Sensor installation.
Note: AutoDiscovery can also be deployed as an OVF on customer HW, after consulting with an AlgoSec SE.
To install, deploy a pre-configured Server Virtual Appliance (ova format) to a VMware ESX Server.
