AlgoBot 2.0 Administration

This section explains how administrators can configure and manage AlgoBot 2.0 for their organization.

AlgoBot provides direct access to core AFA and FireFlow capabilities through simple, natural-language chat commands in Microsoft Teams.

How Algo Works

AlgoBot communicates with selected Firewall Analyzer (AFA) and FireFlow features.

  • In the Early Availability release, 7 features are enabled by default.

  • Administrators can control which features are available to users by removing features that are not required from the whitelist.

Admins can control which features are available to each user. See Managing User Access.

Current Algo Functionality | Available to All Users

By default, users can issue natural-language commands in Microsoft Teams to:

  • Retrieve device information

  • Run traffic simulations

  • Create and manage change requests:

    • Rule removal requests

    • Traffic change requests

    • Object change requests

  • View available FireFlow request templates

Additional commands are reserved for administrators:

  • Retrieve user information

Managing User Access

Administrators control which features are available to users by whitelisting selected features.

To Configure Feature Access for Selected Users

  1. In Microsoft Teams admin account, enter the command:

    !whitelist

    The Whitelist API Tools for User form appears.

  1. In the ASMS Username field, select the user(s) to configure.

  2. In the Endpoints field, select the APIs (endpoints) to make available for the selected user(s).

  3. Click Submit to apply the changes.

The selected users now have access to the assigned features.
