Prepare an AlgoSec Hardware Appliance

This section describes how to prepare an AlgoSec hardware appliance before continuing with your deployment.

Do the following:

Review the contents of the shipping carton, technical specifications, and appliance elements. For details, see:
- Shipping carton contents
- AlgoSec 2nd generation appliances| Technical specifications and elements or AlgoSec 3rd generation appliances| Technical specifications and elements
Mount the appliance on the rack, with the AlgoSec logo facing front.
Connect one end of the power cable supplied to the power jack on the appliance's rear panel. Plug the other end into an electrical outlet.

Do one of the following:

Configure the appliance via iLO

(Recommended)

Do the following:

Connect one end of the network cable supplied to the iLO port on the appliance's front panel.
Connect the other end of the cable to a network port.

Configure the appliance directly

Do the following:

Use a VGA cable to connect a monitor to the video port on the appliance's rear panel.
Connect a keyboard to one of the USB ports on the appliance's front or rear panel.

Note: An iLO license is available for each unit.

iLO provides additional features for controlling and maintaining the appliance.

	Power On/Standby button with a LED whose state indicates the appliance's power status: Flashing. The appliance is initializing. On. The appliance is on. Off. The appliance is off.
	A LED whose state indicates the appliance's hard disk status: Flashing. The hard disk is in use. Off. The hard disk is not in use.
	Video connector.

UID	Unit ID button (activates Unit ID LED on the rear panel).
